The completely opened flower forms a beautiful star during the sunny hours. Flowering in mid-spring, the blossoms are borne on short, robust stems above the foliage of lance-shaped, downy gray-green leaves. A member of the Botanical Tulips, Tulip praestans 'Shogun' is perfect to brighten up front borders or rock gardens. Gorgeous when paired with award-winning Tulip praestans 'Fusilier'.

  • Growing up to 10-12 inches tall (25-30 cm), this tulip naturalizes easily and will come back year after year.
  • Performs best in full sun to light shade, in rich, fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils.
  • Easy to grow, this tulip is a welcomed addition to beds, borders, edging, rock gardens, or naturalized (grassy) areas. For best visual impact, plant in groups (at least 15 bulbs).
  • To be planted in fall.
