Petals open out flat on sunny days, revealing a black heart, or take an urn shape under cloud cover. Just a few bulbs can make an impressively dramatic display!   • Growing up to 14-16 inches tall (35-40 cm), this tulip naturalizes easily and will come back year after year to our delight! It creates dazzling harmonies with other early flowering bulbs.
  • Winner of several international awards, this tulip was introduced in 1931 and has been extremely popular ever since.
  • Performs best in full sun in rich, fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers areas with cool winters and warm dry summers.
  • Easy to grow, this tulip is a welcomed addition to beds, borders, containers, rock gardens, or for naturalizing in grass. For best visual impact, plant in groups (at least 10 to 15 bulbs) or mixed with any other flowering bulbs. Excellent as cut flowers!
